he Albany State University Athletic Department is thrilled to announce the overwhelming success of Golden Ram Tuesday, a dedicated fundraising effort aimed at supporting our student-athletes and their endeavors. We set an ambitious goal of $25,000, and thanks to the incredible generosity of our RAMily, we are proud to reveal that we have surpassed that goal, raising an astonishing $35,608.30.
Dr. Kristene Kelly, ASU Director of Athletics, expressed her gratitude for the remarkable achievement: “We are truly humbled and grateful for the support we received during Golden Ram Tuesday. It’s a testament to the strength of our RAMily and our commitment to #CreatingLegacies. The funds raised will directly impact the lives of our student-athletes, enabling them to excel in both their academic and athletic pursuits.”
Golden Ram Tuesday was a focused effort for a single day, but our dedication to the success of our student-athletes continues year-round. We encourage our supporters to consider contributing to the sport of their choice or the Ram Fund, helping us sustain the excellence and legacy-building that defines our athletics program.
“We are very grateful for the generosity of our Golden Rams Baseball supporters! Between our annual Marathon Fundraiser game and Giving Tuesday we were able to raise over 16k dollars. We could not continue doing what our program does without the help of our wonderful supporters,” Head Baseball Coach Scott Hemmings.
“We could not be more grateful for all of the donations received on RAM Tuesday. We would like to thank all of the donors for helping us exceed our goal for giving and thank our leader, Dr. Kelly, for a phenomenal campaign. Our student-athletes are truly blessed to have this support system,” said Head Men’s Basketball Coach Patrick Gayle.
“I am extremely grateful and ecstatic about the athletics department exceeding the goal of 25,000 on giving Tuesday. I am thankful for everyone who took the time to donate to our athletic program and for everyone who continue to support our program and athletes daily. The contributions that have been made will definitely benefit our volleyball program as we move forward, and I am excited to see where we go. Thank you again, we appreciate it! Go Rams!” said Sydney Melton.
“Thank you to all the alumni, friends, and ramily that went above and beyond to support the athletics department. It sincerely makes my heart warm that you all continuously pour into this great institution, and time after time exceed our desires. We truly appreciate your support and will continue to give our upmost dedication to show our gratitude towards your support of the volleyball program as well as the other athletic teams,” said Joy Robinson.
“The Albany State Men’s Track & Field team would like to thank everybody who donated to our organization. We are more than grateful with us exceeding our goal with these donations from you all. The funds donated will go towards our traveling expenses, team gear and nutritional supplements for our team,” said Kibren Moore.
“We would like to express our gratitude to each and every donor on behalf of Women’s Track and Field. We will be able to purchase training equipment and travel gear with the funds we received. As our ladies would say, “LOOK GOOD, RUN GOOD,” said JaNiya Harris.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to every member of the RAMily who participated in Golden Ram Tuesday. Your generosity and dedication make a profound difference in the lives of our student-athletes, and we are grateful for your continued support.
